Russell Watson joins cast of Chicago in MK

Thursday 25 November 2021

Russell Watson will star in the classic musical Chicago when it returns to MK Theatre next March.
Widley regarded as one of the greatest classical singers in the world, Russell will star as Billy Flynn alongside Faye Brookes’ Roxie Hart and Djalenga Scott as Velma Kelly.

Announcing the news and going into further detail on the shows’ plot, David Ian in association with Barry and Fran Weissler said that they are: “Delighted to announce that world renowned singing sensation Russell Watson will play the role of ‘Billy Flynn’ in the UK and Ireland tour of the international smash hit musical CHICAGO…

“Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.”

Chicago will play at MK Theatre from the 8th to the 12th of March 2022 – more information is available here: https://www.atgtickets.com/venues/milton-keynes-theatre/.
