MK Council to invest £1m in green spaces in the Lakes Estate

Tuesday 12 January 2021

MK Council has today announced a £1m investment to various public spaces in the Lakes Estate.

The plans, which include public green spaces, new cycling routes, improvements to children’s play areas and community courtyards, were given planning consent back in October and have now been officially confirmed.

Cabinet Member for Public Realm and Council Housing Cllr Emily Darlington spoke of the plans in a statement released today.

She said: “These improvements are delivering on the regeneration proposals that residents voted for. We know just how important access to green spaces and play areas can be in improving people’s quality of life.

“I look forward to working with the community to deliver on these exciting plans.”

Improvements to the area are also designed to go alongside the new environmentally friendly homes being built in Serpentine Court.
