MK Council to fund free training for aspiring entrepreneurs

Friday 16 October 2020

MK Council will be putting £6,000 into a Pop Up Business School to support budding entrepreneurs in Milton Keynes.

Held online in a series of sessions, in collaboration with local housing associations Places for People and Guinness the scheme will give participants the training they need to start their own business.

Guinness Partnership CEO Catriona Simons commented on the project in a statement released today.

She said: “It is especially important in these difficult economic times to support enterprise and give people with good business ideas access to expert advice to make these ideas a reality. We are proud to be supporting PopUp Business School.”

The courses are entirely free and are open to anyone who wants to participate, with the first course taking place from the 2nd to the 13th of November.

The CEO of Places for People also spoke of it’s importance, saying that: “We have seen directly how challenging the current pandemic has been, and the impact on job opportunities for our own customers and communities. The free course from the Pop Up Business school will help give local people the tools they need to develop the next generation of innovative businesses in the local area."
