First residents move into The Wheatfields since the development reopened

Thursday 15 October 2020

A new housing development in Hanslope has welcomed its first new residents since sales and construction staff returned to the site in May.

The two sets of buyers were the first to move in at The Wheatfields, a collection of new houses being built by Davidsons Homes, after sales resumed at the site following the easing of restrictions on the housing market.

A total of seventeen homes are now occupied at the development. Six homes have been completed since construction restarted on site at the beginning of May, all of which are now reserved, while work is underway on a further 18 plots.

Located off Long Street Road, the development will eventually comprise a total of 141 new homes alongside areas of public open space.

Simon Tyler, Head of Sales for Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “Following the events of the last few months, it has been great to once again welcome buyers into their new homes at The Wheatfields.

“As well as reopening our marketing suite to visitors at the end of May, we have made excellent progress since restarting construction work on site, enabling us to complete six homes in the past three months. All six were quickly reserved due to the high demand for our homes at The Wheatfields.”

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Davidsons Homes will contribute more than £2.2 million towards local services and infrastructure.

Contributions include more than £1.1 million towards education and £200,000 for local healthcare facilities.

Davidsons Homes will also pay £32,737 in the form of a community hall contribution as well as a £105,750 neighbourhood play contribution and a £137,633 playing field contribution to Milton Keynes Council.

Mr Tyler said: “In addition to providing a wide variety of new homes at The Wheatfields, we are also proud to be delivering a significant investment to support vital services, including health and education, in Hanslope and the surrounding area.”

A range of three, four and five-bedroom houses are available to buy at The Wheatfields, with prices starting from £329,995.

The sales and marketing suite at The Wheatfields is open seven days a week. The office is open from 10.30am to 5.30pm Tuesday to Sunday and from midday to 5.30pm on Monday.
