Council approves plans for green council homes

Thursday 18 February 2021

MK Council have approved new plans for 60 green council homes to be built in Netherfield.
Cripps Lodge will soon boast houses among “the greenest in the city”, including bungalows and wheelchair friendly properties. The eco-friendly technology on display in these homes will include air source pumps, a high standard of insulation to keep energy use down and solar panels.

The Cabinet Member responsible for council housing Cllr Emily Darlington spoke of the plans in a statement released today.

She said: “We are delivering on our commitment to build these much-needed council homes for MK families. We’re working hard to ensure that we don’t let sites sit empty as we progress with our green council housebuilding programme. My thanks go out to everyone involved, including Woughton Community Council for their work during the consultation.”

Overall, the council plans to build 1,200 new homes by 2030, all with the environment in mind. For more information, you can go to: https://www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/.
