The day was a real success, with around 400 people attending. They were able to find out more about the marina, which is due to open in spring 2019, its construction and the state-of-the-art facilities that will be provided for boaters.

David Foster, Chief Executive of The Parks Trust said: “We were very pleased to welcome so many people to the open day. It was a unique opportunity to see the marina before it is filled with water, and there was lots of interest in the work that has been completed so far.

“The marina will be a great addition and point of interest within the network of parks in Milton Keynes, perfectly situated to allow easy access to the city centre with its first-class shopping, restaurants, theatre, cinema and other attractions as well as the beautiful parks such as Campbell Park, Willen Lake and the unique tree cathedral. Next month will see the installation of the spectacular new three-legged bridge across the mouth of the Marina and the Grand Union Canal, with work continuing throughout the winter to ensure the project is finished in time for the spring.”
